The Provident Bank Foundation (PBF) is committed to enhancing the quality of life in the New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania communities served by Provident Bank. Since its founding in 2003, our Foundation has granted more than $26 million to not-for-profit organizations and institutions working toward building stronger communities.

Important Instructions for submitting a request

  • Please read the Guidelines and follow all instructions and deadlines carefully. Failure to follow directions may result in requests being denied.
  • All requests must be submitted through the links provided below.
  • Ensure all required documents are attached. Only complete LOIs and Applications will be reviewed.
  • Late submissions will not be accepted. No changes or additions will be accepted after submission.
  • PBF will use its best efforts to communicate responses within the stated time frame.
  • Refer to the FAQ GUIDE for instructions and any questions you may have in regards to our online grant application portal.
  • PLEASE NOTE: Requests will not be accepted from organizations with active grants from PBF. We must also be in receipt of all progress reports from previous grants.

Community Grants

The 2021 Community Grant cycle is open!

In 2021, a Community Grant will provide funding from $1,000 up to and including $5,000.


To apply for a Community Grant, eligible organizations must submit a complete Application which will be reviewed for alignment with the priorities of the Community Grant.

PBF will accept Applications on a rolling basis until 3:00 PM EST on Friday, October 29, 2021. PBF will use its best efforts to review requests and communicate responses within 90 days of receiving the Application.

Beginning in 2021, The Provident Bank Foundation’s Community Grant program will focus on funding organizations in need of strategic operating support. Community Grants will be awarded to eligible organizations as general operating support or unrestricted grants. Organizations applying for a Community Grant must demonstrate their mission’s alignment to one Funding Priority Areas and demonstrate impact in the Bank’s marketplace.

Major Grants

The 2021 Major Grant – Cycle 1 is CLOSED.

The 2021 Major Grant – Cycle 2 LOI will be available at 9:00 AM on July 1, 2021.

In 2021, a Major Grant will provide funding over $5,000 up to and including $25,000.


PBF will review Major Grant requests in two stages:

  1. Eligible organizations must submit a Letter of Intent (LOI) which will be reviewed and scored for alignment with the priorities of the Major Grant.
  2. If an LOI passes the initial review, the applicant organization will be invited to submit an Application. Final awards will be made after the review and approval of Applications by PBF’s Board of Directors. The Provident Bank Foundation’s Major Grant will focus on funding programs, projects, or initiatives that address immediate needs, create meaningful impact, and lead to sustainable community enhancement. PBF seeks to build relationships with organizations that have the capacity and drive to create systems change in the communities that Provident Bank serves.

Signature Grants

Sponsorships

The Provident Bank Foundation will not be offering Sponsorship funding in 2021.
