MORRISTOWN, NJ (June 23, 2021)The Provident Bank Foundation (PBF) is excited to announce the final cycle of 2021 Major Grant opportunities which will provide support for organizations that have identified an immediate need in communities served by Provident Bank. Earlier this year, PBF awarded $400k in Major Grants to 26 organizations in the region, resulting in the largest Major Grant cycle to date.

A Major Grant emphasizes support of sustainable community enhancement and short-term change, addressing one or more of PBF’s funding priority areas — Community Enrichment, Education, and Health, Youth & Families. This year, with Provident Bank’s acquisition of SB One Bank, PBF has expanded their list of counties eligible for funding. Grants are now available for organizations based in or serving communities in Sussex County, New Jersey and the Astoria neighborhood of Queens, New York.

Major Grant requests range from $5,000 up to and including $25,000, and guidelines are available on PBF’s website. Letters of Intent for the second cycle are available starting July 1 and are due on July 23 by 3pm EST.

“The Foundation’s Major Grants have supported a number of organizations whose missions are focused on impacting change throughout their communities” says Samantha Plotino, Executive Director of the Provident Bank Foundation. “We’re excited to see what comes of this next cycle, especially after such a challenging year for nonprofit organizations.”

In addition to Major Grants, The Provident Bank Foundation offers Community Grants, ranging from $1,000 up to and including $5,000, with applications reviewed on a rolling basis. These grants are primarily used for increasing access to funding and strengthening the capacity of community-based organizations.
