The Provident Bank Foundation (PBF) is pleased to announce new Signature Grant opportunities for 2018, in an effort to strengthen its ongoing commitment to enhancing the quality of life in communities served by Provident Bank.

Additionally, in an effort to streamline the submission process, the Foundation has launched a video detailing grant eligibility requirements.

“The Provident Bank Foundation’s goal has always been – and will continue to be – making funding accessible to qualified organizations. In an effort to simplify the application process, we’ve packaged the Signature Grant guidelines into a video which will be available soon on our website,” said Jane Kurek, Executive Director, The Provident Bank Foundation. “As we continue to serve our communities we must find ways to ensure The Provident Bank Foundation is responsive to the challenges organizations are facing – and time pressure and information access is one of those challenges. We believe the video guidelines will help foster understanding and address common questions regarding qualification for these grants.”

As outlined on The Foundation’s website, The Foundation is making two (2) $50,000 Signature Grants available in the Health, Youth & Families priority funding area, aimed at ensuring people of all ages and means have access to quality healthcare and safe places to live. Specifically, grants will be made in the following focus areas:

  1. Out-Patient Medical Care: The goal of this grant is to provide funding to a non-profit organization whose mission is to improve access to quality and specialized health care to the communities served within Provident Bank’s marketplace.
  2. Human Services – Shelter & Residential Care: The goal of this grant is to support a non-profit organization that serves those experiencing a crisis situation at their immediate point of need, helping individuals and/or families to navigate the crisis and overcome the challenges in accessing housing and basic needs.

“Now more than ever there is a need to provide support to the organizations in our communities that provide for those in need of basic services – shelter and healthcare. And beyond that, The Foundation will also support organizations who are innovating in this area,” says Kurek.

In addition to the Signature Grant opportunities, PBF’s Board has approved the continuation of Major Grants and Community Grants in 2018. Major Grants range from $5,000 up to and including $25,000, and support organizations that have identified an immediate need in the communities they serve. Community Grants range from $1,000 up to and including $5,000 and are primarily used for increasing access to funding and strengthening the capacity of community-based organizations. Additional details regarding these grant categories are available on The Foundation’s website.

“Since 2003, our Foundation has granted more than $23 million to organizations striving to improve the quality of life for people in their communities,” says Kurek. “We believe in the power of collaboration and are committed to continued support of these very important services.”
